Letting Go And Moving On

Sometimes what we’ve become used to, good and bad, overwhelms us to the extent we can’t make sense of what must happen to change the status quo.

Life doesn’t always turn out like we expected, planned and dreamed of. But instead of hiding away from the problem, facing up to what we can do to improve things, is a step in the right direction. Yes, I’ll not deny it; transitions are hard but necessary to get the best life.

Are you scared of changing aspects of your life? Life can be scary at the best of times. Loss of loved ones, change of scenery, circumstances that are out of our control, and, worst of all: The feeling of not belonging like we used to. These are all reasons to find the strength to pursue the best life for YOU. Not someone else, but the right direction that will work for you.

Letting go of the past, a partner, a place where we’ve lived for a long time, old habits and a job we’ve done for so long we no longer know what it would feel like to change and take a risk towards a different life. A life that’s challenging, new opportunities, new beginnings. Living in the past robs us of a future, a chance to grow and make room for new people and challenges to get the best life.

The pandemic will not be part of lives forever, but it’s forced us to live differently. Gone are the days when we took everything for granted. It’s the reason we refer to life before the virus and will refer to life after in the foreseeable future. Nothing Lasts Forever. We’re born and die. It’s HOW we Live and what choices we make that truly matter.

Transitions are difficult no matter at what stage of life. Leaving behind family and friends to pursue dreams and aspirations that may not work out as well as we wish and hope make us vulnerable and strong at the same time. Vulnerable since we’ve got much to lose and gain. Life’s a gamble. With every chance there’s a risk. The real challenge is to persevere and learn what doesn’t kill us will make us stronger. Surviving breakups, learning how to love again and embracing new beginnings are just as much part of life and living as saying goodbye to loved ones and the past. The memories will always remain, even when moving on towards a better life and future.

Start small and proceed cautiously, taking one day at a time. You’ll find little by little everything will fall into place.

With much love,

Hélene xx
